Anthony was born March 1, 1914. As a young child, he had Rheumatic Fever which damaged his heart. He was an avid reader and loved books. He was drafted into the Army April 3, 1942. He served during Worlld War II and became a corporal in the 43rd Coast Artillery Batallion. His serial number was 32 275 505. He was a Canoneer. He received the American Service Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged January 1, 1946. He worked as a welder after leaving the Army. He died July 3, 1958 from multiple pulmonary emboli. |
